Banks will also provide hotlines to customers to handle urgent financial services, the Macao Banking Association said.
“Banks will set up hotlines during the suspension of service provision at branches, to facilitate residents and businesses with needs regarding the provision of urgent services, including urgent matters such as payment of salaries. , among others,” a statement from the Macau Monetary Authority (AMCM) said.
In the meantime, the deadlines for certain services, namely on-site settlement, payment of loans (in instalments), payment of credit card receivables, as well as the maturity of term deposits will be postponed to the first day opened after the end of the temporary suspension of service, scheduled for July 4.
During this additional week of suspension of services, the insurance companies will ensure the effective follow-up of any cases of policy renewal, adds the AMCM.
