the Lake Development Authority continued to adjust staff roles this week with the promotion of Patrick Mohorcic to Director of Public Finance and Chief Financial Officer, replacing Timothy Cahill.

Cahill moves into a part-time role as a bond and public finance adviser for the remainder of 2022.

Myranda Keister was recently hired to fill Mohorcic’s previous position as Director of Planning and Development.

Mohorcic, 26, noted that Cahill has been a great mentor over the past four years.

“I’m grateful to fill his shoes in this senior leadership role,” he said. “Tim has been instrumental in working behind the scenes to strengthen Lake County’s economy. Under Tim’s leadership, the Lake Development Authority has issued over $180 million in development bonds, creating over 300 jobs He deserves our deepest gratitude.

Cahill added: “I really enjoyed working with Patrick. He has a passion for our community and a thirst for knowledge to maximize his contribution to the success of Lake County. I look forward to helping her transition into her new role.

Mohorcic started with the Lake County Ohio Port and Economic Development Authority in 2018, where he was employed as Director of Economic Development, responsible for expanding its business outreach program, designed to connect county businesses to business development and workforce resources in Lake County. .

In the business expansion and retention role, he exceeded set targets by implementing valuable new programs for potential Lake County employers and employees, according to the board.

Mohorcic has also worked with Laketran to implement the “TransitGo” pilot program, which provides bus passes to employers to pass on to employees, reducing the transportation barrier for those who want to commute. at work.

In cooperation with mentoring schools, he led “Career Bound: College Internship and Job Fair” at Mentor Paradigm in December 2019 and developed a business registration platform which served as a one-stop concept to help businesses through the process of opening a business in Lake County.

Additionally, Mohorcic received the “Rookie of the Year” award from the Ohio Economic Development Association at its annual meeting in 2019 and was named in “Crain’s Cleveland Business: 20 in their 20s” in 2020 for his work in Lake County.

That year, Mohorcic moved away from the Lake Development Authority to work with the Lake County Commissioners as director of the Workforce Development Board and executive director of the Lake County Workforce Development Board.

He returned in 2021 to take on the role of Director of Planning and Development.

Mohorcic, who resides in Willowick, graduated with a master’s degree from Cleveland State University’s Levine College of Urban Affairs in 2021.

Executive director David Anderson added that Mohorcic has been a big part of the team.

“His work ethic, intelligence and enthusiasm will stand him in good stead as he tackles this new challenge,” Anderson said. “I look forward to working with him in his new role.”

Mohorcic’s duties include directing the organization’s bond financing programs for companies with multimillion-dollar projects in Lake County, managing real estate assets, and serving as the airport’s executive chief financial officer. Lake County.
